Governmen:t Akhannouch confirms upcoming reshuffle

After the Parliament, it is the turn of the general public to be addressed by Aziz Akhannouch. In front of two journalists from public television, the Head of Government sought to convince the public of the solidity of his mid-term report, presented on Wednesday before the two chambers of Parliament.
For the first time, Aziz Akhannouch discussed publicly what has been said behind the scenes for almost two months. This concerns the possibility of a ministerial reshuffle after the Istiqlal congress, which ended on Sunday April 28, 2024 in Bouznika. The parties forming the majority will thus take a break to determine their priorities. According to Aziz Akhannouch, «we’ve been working for 30 months, very seriously, according to specific programs. It is fair to say that we’re comfortable continuing within this framework. However, we’re halfway there, and we need to set new priorities. We’re waiting for the parties forming the majority to complete their organization, today the Istiqlal, before the PAM».
For the Head of Government, when all the allies are ready, one will see how to manage the next stage. Akhannouch pointed out that this is a constitutional stage, in which the rules of the Constitution must be respected and applied. The leader of the RNI party gave no further details on the reshuffle, which is being closely watched by party leaders who are jockeying for ministerial portfolios. The Head of Government confined himself to generalities, pointing out that for two and a half years, «the same ministers have worked and achieved good results. We’ll see what happens when we start discussions between the majority parties».
Moreover, the next stage of Aziz Akhannouch’s term in office calls for greater mobilization, stronger support, and unity of ranks than in the past, as the issues ahead are marked by major challenges, characterized by the uncertainty linked to an international system impacted by the consequences of the pandemic and regional conflicts. The ability to overcome these challenges requires strong nations, capable of strengthening their home front, consolidating their position and leadership, with the logic of ensuring equal opportunities for all, he said
According to Akhannouch, the result of the Government’s work is honorable.
It reflects the Government’s respect for its obligations and commitments. «Under royal leadership, this is the result of a serious approach that has made it possible to transform crises and multiple constraints into opportunities for sustainable development. The next stage aims to achieve good economic and social growth. Consequently, our vision requires us to make employment an absolute priority», said the Head of Government.
