5G: 7 million smartphones activated in 7 days
The Barely a week after the official commercial launch of 5G in Morocco, the initial progress report, compiled from operators and the regulatory authority, indicates effective coverage in 60 cities. According to our sources, data volumes have seen a substantial increase. For example, on prepaid plans, the 50 dirham (USD 5.4) offer now provides 11 gigabytes (GB), representing an increase of approximately 120%. For postpaid plans, there is a 20% increase for the same initial price. It should be noted that the 5G commercial offers in Morocco, launched simultaneously by the three operators (Maroc Telecom, Orange Maroc, and Inwi), enhance the user’s multimedia experience. Specifically, 5G allows for faster speeds and near-zero latency. This significantly improves the customer experience, particularly for streaming high-definition (HD) or 4K content on platforms like Netflix, as well as for watching movies, videos, and live sports. The 5G commercial offers from the three operators also include «Box 5G» packages. These are fixed 5G solutions designed to provide very high-speed internet at home. These boxes are specifically adapted to support the simultaneous use of numerous devices for streaming, gaming, and other digital activities at home.
