Central Market Set for a Major Makeover

Casa Aménagement has launched tender No. 646/2026/MCC-TRAV for the rehabilitation and upgrading of Casablanca’s Central Market. The value of this public contract has been set at MAD 33.48 million. The opening of bids submitted by competing firms is scheduled for May 6, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Casablanca Aménagement’s headquarters.
Bidders are required to provide a provisional bid bond of MAD 340,000 and submit their application files online via www.marchespublics.gov.ma
A site visit to the Central Market is scheduled for April 29, 2026. “The meeting point is specified in the consultation regulations of the tender,” Casa Aménagement noted in its document. For further clarification, the consultation regulations indicate that the April 29 visit is set for 10 a.m. in front of the Central Market’s main entrance, on the Boulevard Mohammed V side. Importantly, bidders who do not attend the visit will not be entitled to submit any remarks or observations on the minutes that will subsequently be shared by Casa Aménagement, according to the contracting authority.
This project is structured as a single lot. This public procurement procedure means that all services (works, supplies or services) will be awarded to a single bidder—in this case, a construction company.
However, the contractor may subcontract part of the project, provided it does not exceed 50% of the total contract value, i.e. MAD 16.74 million. Subcontracting is not permitted for the main trades (repairs, structural works and waterproofing, flooring and wall finishes, electrical works, etc.) or for services explicitly designated as non-subcontractable, as specified in Article 11 of the special specifications.
The works must be completed within one year from the date on which Casa Aménagement issues the notice to proceed. The contract will only become valid and binding after approval by the company’s top management, including its CEO. Driss Moulay Rchid is required to notify the successful bidder within a maximum of 60 days following the opening of bids, i.e. no later than Monday, July 6, 2026.
