Key priorities include supporting SMEs through credit lines, investing in venture capital funds, sustainable energy, transport infrastructure, water, and health. The main beneficiaries in Africa were Morocco, Nigeria, Mauritania, Egypt, and Malawi. EIB Global also intervened in smaller countries like The Gambia, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Cabo Verde.

Its financing focuses on essential infrastructures, including water and sanitation, energy, transport, education, and health, as well as supporting the private sector.
In 2025, EIB disbursements to Morocco amounted to €210 million, including €180 million in the public sector and €30 million in the private sector. These disbursements notably include financing for the Banque Populaire Group under the EU’s Trade and Competitiveness Programme, aimed at strengthening export value chains in three key sectors for Morocco: automotive, textiles, and agri-food.o
